I wanted to replace the non-digital 24" CRT TV in the front of our coach with a 32" LCD and these photos are the results of the installation.

  • This shows the lower frame moved back. If you trimmed the top piece you could leave this frame in it's orignial place. Some LCDs may fit without moving this.

  • This shows what I did with the back part. I did not trim the back but instead just remounted in same holes. This allows some cooling for the cabinet.

  • I cut off the trim at the bottom of the top piece and just used a piece of quarter round trim. No, it is not a perfect fit but it is behind the TV and is not seen unless you are looking at the side. I also used a piece of black foam between the top trim and the TV. This allows me to remove the top piece then lift the TV off the mount.

  • We used 2" angle aluminum and mounted that to the existing side plates with self tapping screws. Then the Walmart flat LCD wall mount was mounted to the angle aluminum. The cables and turn buckles are used to provide more vibration resistance. I ran cables from the LCD to the entertainment cabinet for everything that had a connection even if I had no use for it now. I have bypassed the media switch and used sperate inputs for Direct TV (In Motion), Cable, and the Antenna. I also hooked up a HDMI cable, RGB Computer cable and audio cable for future use. Now if we want to change between any of the inputs we only have to use the remote control to change the input selection... no more going to the cabinet to push a switch!

  • When I was working in the cabinet I bumped against the orginal A/C outlet and it sparked. I pulled it apart and found that the relay and wiring were so tight that the A/C wires touched a lug on the relay. So, I removed the old A/C box and relay and installed a new one. By doing this the TV can now be used with the ignition switch turned on. I had previously removed fuse for the relay but this gives me a much more solid A/C outlet.
