Day 7-8 - August 23-24, 2009
Jan and I spent the 23rd in Edmonton. We went to a couple of flea markets, purchased a few Canadian Maple Leaf silver rounds and some unique picture mounts (frames). After the flea markets we went to the largest Candian Mall and spent a couple of hours looking around. This was the largest mall in North America but now that title is claimed by one in the U.S. It would have taken several days to cover the entire mall. We stayed in and watched a little tv, rested up for the trip to Dawson Creek, British Columbia which is where the Alaskan Highway starts.
On the 24th around 4:30pm we arrived at Dawson Creek and headed to the RV park to setup the motor home. After setting up the motor home, and checking into the camp we headed out to investigate the area. We shot a few photos, ate out at a local steak house and headed back to the motor home for a quiet evening. Tomorrow we head up the Alaskan Highway for our first leg to Fort Nelson.
