On the 10th we traveled from Whitehorse, Yk to Watson Lake, Yk. The drive was great and as ususal the country was beautiful. We replensihed supplies and headed back about 12 miles to a campground that is located at the head of the Cassiar Hwy to spend the night. On the 11th we headed out with our goal of Stewart, BC and Hyder, Ak. About 20 miles down the road I saw a sign that said Road Closed but since it did not have the entire road blocked we continued on down the Cassiar Hwy. It is about 400 miles to Stewart, BC which is a very small town located on the coast of British Columbia. Hyder is just across the US/Canada border, so it is in Alaska. We will spend a couple of days here to see the sights and rest up a bit. No cell phone service but at least we have Internet!
