Day 5-6 - August 21-22, 2009
We left Spearfish, SD on Friday morning and headed to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada via North Dakota. North Dakota was a land of rolling hills and endless grasslands. However, we found a surprise to the terrain which was Theordore Roosevelt National Park. This was like a minature Grand Canyon. We spent a couple of hours in the canyons and had lunch before heading on into Canada. We arrived in Regina early evening, found the RV park, setup the motor home and went out to supper.
On Saturday morning we headed on to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Both Jan and I are getting a little tired as we travelled around 500 miles on Friday. The trip to Edmonton is also about 500 miles but we made the trip ok. About 30 miles from Edmonton I spotted a herd of Buffalo so we stopped and shot a few photos. About 5 more miles down the road there was a wreck with a fatality. I Praise God that we were not there at the time of the accident! We found the RV Park about 5pm and are now settled in. Jan and I both agree we are going to stay here a couple of days before heading on to Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada. Dawson Creek is the start of the Alaskan Highway and it promises to be an exciting part of the trip.
